Mars Pet food are currently recruiting for a Customer Marketing role. These role will ensure we lead the customer’s in-store marketing agenda in line with the Mars pet category vision and brand strategies. This includes ownership of decisions on investment priorities, development, creation and implementation of the rolling 18 month plan.
Sitting within the Category and Customer Marketing team this role will ensure our category vision is brought to life, blending the Mars category vision and customer vision/strategy to generate competitive advantage through a market leading, customer centric activation plan.
This role will be a key customer interface, owning the activation relationship within customers at Buyer, Senior Buyer and Merchandiser level. Contact with key customers will be weekly at the customer’s office to drive engagement, deliver buy-in and then conduct negotiations on pricing for in-store media.
This person will have full ownership of the 18 month activation plan within their accounts and be responsible for driving awareness of the customer’s agenda internally, to ensure our activation reflects their strategic priorities as well as our own. They will ensure the plan is delivered on time, in full – ensuring any bespoke activation is creatively developed and executed to best in class standards, as well as implementing existing European toolkits for major brand activities. Teamwork is key, working as an integral part of the customer team to ensure full understanding of the customer, as well as being a key part of the Customer Marketing team. This person will contribute to the wider Customer Marketing and Category team, taking a lead role in team engagement initiatives and contributing positively to development of the team charter.
Ideally educated to degree level in a marketing or business-related discipline, you’ll need a proven track record in trade marketing or account management, underpinned by the ability to synthesise disparate pieces of information, both numeric and verbal, in an actionable and objective way to create consumer insights.
Comfortable using analytical PC tools, or with an aptitude for them, you have strong analytical, prioritising and organisational skills and are capable of handling multi-projects simultaneously. Strategically agile and with real customer focus, you can also offer strengths in:
• supplier management
• directing others
• comfort around higher management.
