An extremely exciting role for a National Sales Manager has become available with a fast-growing client of mine based down in Hampshire. My client is a market leading decorating tools business, and part of the largest such business in Europe.

The new National Sales Manager will be tasked with the following;

  • To be a part of the senior management team playing in part in major decision making in the business
  • Reporting into the Managing Director
  • Be responsible for the effectiveness of a high-performance sales team
  • To retain but also expand the existing customer base across the UK & Ireland
  • Create and implement an effective sales strategy
  • Actively coach and develop the team through training but also on the job
  • Address all key business issues and sales opportunities
  • Train, develop but also retain the sales team and its strongest performers
  • To be responsible for forecasting on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
  • Host and chair regular sales team meetings

The role will need extensive travel across the UK & Ireland, as judged by the day to day demands of the role. The role will be home-based but we do need someone who can travel to the Hampshire office as and when required.


The successful candidate for this new National Sales Manager role will come with the following skills and experience;

  • Track record of recruiting and training a high-performance sales team
  • Lead and manage a diverse team
  • Define and delivery of strategic sales plans
  • Exceptional negotiation skills
  • Calm, measured and responsible approach to the role
  • Sales Management / People Management experience of at least 3-5 years
  • Self-starter with a focused and driven attitude
  • Strong understanding of the sales process, time-frames and accurate forecasting experience
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Present and report to senior management effectively and confidently
  • Develop extremely strong internal as well as external relationships (Finance, Marketing etc.)
  • Home-based office, track record of excelling with minimal supervision

Job Offer

up to £50,000 basic per annum dependent on experience + company car + performance related and company bonus + company pension + private medical cover + benefits
