Buyer – Frozen, Ambient, Chilled Food

My client is a growing food distribution and development business with a well established reputation in the market and multiple sites across the UK. Through an unfailing commitment to high product quality, they are a leading supplier to major retailers as well as foodservice and food manufacturers with a strong pipeline of innovation. Due to recent growth, they are looking for a Buyer who will be responsible for supporting the business needs with procurement and communicating efficiently with suppliers.

The Role:

• To support the Category Buying Manager in all main supplier reviews
• To support the Contract Distribution business in preparing all price movement analysis and documentation
• To collate all product specifications and supplier details for all products
• To deliver cost savings and product range improvements through effective purchasing in a selection of suppliers
• To arrange and attend supplier meetings with the Category Buying Manager
• To collate and analyse reports relating to product price changes, margins and sell prices
• To check and agree all new cost and sell prices on the system
• To create and communicate market information, trends and opportunity documents / programmes
• To create a tender calendar for all new tender opportunities for suppliers
• To support effective stock management, working with the inventory controllers to ensure KPI’s are delivered
• To ensure contracts are in place with all suppliers
• To support in the delivery of the category business plan
