Your new company
An amazing opportunity has arisen to join a leading oriental grocer with four sites over the UK. The company has rapidly become one of the most celebrated stores, sourcing and supplying authentic ingredients to the UK's Chinese and Asian restaurants, discerning chefs and food enthusiasts. With over 40 years' experience in the Oriental food trade, they have developed an enviable network of Far Eastern suppliers and manufacturers which enables us to source quality and innovative products for our customers.
The business continues to grow, they have recently refurbished the Head office, warehouse and national distribution centre with almost 200,000 square feet of selling and storage space across the 10 acre site. Three stores are currently offering improved shopping facilities with light and airy décor, wider aisles, and of course an even greater range of Far Eastern products.
Your new role
You will need to be motivated with a 'can-do' approach, as well as being adaptable and able to think on your feet. Commercial acumen is key in order to make decisions quickly on a daily basis, as is the ability to recognise potential issues in order to deal with them quickly and efficiently. You must have experience of working in a fast past environment. The main focus of your role is to generate sales and profit whilst being passionate about the product and business. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability in a Deputy or Store Manager position from a leading food retailer. You will have strong track record in delivering exceptional customer service and ability to plan and prioritise work effectively.
What you'll need to succeed
· To liaise with the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of the site
· To ensure sales are maximised in accordance with the group strategy
· To carry out and oversee the recruitment process as necessary
· To clear communicate to the rest of the team any issues, projects or updates as required ·
- Ensure all legal compliance is achieved within the store and the warehouse teams
