CATEGORY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Based:  South West London

£ Attractive basic, bonus & benefits

We are Savencia — one of the largest speciality cheese manufacturers in the UK. We are no.2 in France and 5th largest in the world, with sales of €4.4bn through 120 companies, 18,000 staff and a very proud family-owned French business, with a heritage of producing high quality cheese.

We manufacture and market a broad range of cheese brands which in the UK include, Le Rustique and Saint Agur, both of which are fully supported with on-going above-the-line marketing, including television advertising, together with a strong Private Label portfolio across the UK market.

Here at Savencia, we are planning to grow. With substantial investment in production and marketing, we are looking to double our sales in the UK over the next 5 years, which will prove both challenging and exciting, as well as providing future opportunities within our broader commercial team. As part of this growth objective, we are now looking to appoint a Category Development Manager, who has been well-trained and has gained hands-on experience in supporting or directly managing a growing category within a recognised branded or own-label FMCG food/drink or non-food business, across the Top 6 Grocery Multiples.

You are currently operating at Category Executive or Manager level and are ready to take your next career step. Working in collaboration with a small, close-knit team of sales and marketing colleagues, you will take responsibility for developing and influencing the category agenda with some of our major retail customers; providing compelling recommendations for retailer range reviews and driving actionable, tailored trade plans. In addition there will be opportunities to get involved in bigger, company-wide category projects. Previous knowledge of working with multiple data sets e.g. Nielsen and generating key insights is essential together with a strong understanding of the UK Grocery Retail market.

To be successful you will need to demonstrate a confident and articulate personal style with strong commercial acumen and good numerical, analytical and presentation skills combined with personal drive and desire for development.

If you believe this is the right career move moment for you, then please apply to our Retained Recruitment Partner – Colin Beaumont –colin@smithcarey.co.uk– quoting reference CB/1921, enclosing your up-to-date CV, together with full benefits package details.

All third party applications will be referred to our Retained Recruitment Partner – SmithCarey.

Closing date for applications:   20th October 2017
