ParcelShop Business Development Executive – East/West Midlands

The Hermes ParcelShop network handles over 20 million parcels per year on behalf of Hermes and some of the biggest names in the Retail market. Our 4500 ParcelShop portfolio provides a high quality convenient ParcelShop experience for our customers.

A new vacancy has arisen for a Parcelshop Business Development Executive. The purpose of this role is to successfully manage our ParcelShop network within a specified territory through the professional selling of our products and services to prospective retailers. The role also includes the day to day performance management of these sites to ensure that fantastic customer experience is achieved. This role is home based however travel is required daily to maintain contact with the ParcelShops both within a defined territory and or other areas within UK if required.

This Position covers  East/West Midlands

Key Responsibility and Accountability:

  • Accountable for ensuring Retailers & their staff have a detailed knowledge & full understanding of  all ParcelShop processes and the correct use of Hermes  equipment.  Enabling the stores in your Territory to be fully compliant to those processes, promoting & protecting an excellent customer experience
  • Responsible for the Analysis of Management Information to determine individual Retailer performance against Company volume & service KPI targets
  • Accountable for identifying, agreeing & implementing specific improvement actions for each Retailer within your territory, where KPI targets are not being achieved
  • A keen eye for detail with the ability to review Management Information to pro-actively identify areas of opportunity and track your personal achievement when managing your territory against agreed company KPI targets
  • An uncompromising focus on delivering results and the ability to demonstrate resilience, driving an even higher level of performance and value
  • Responsible for ensuring maximum awareness of the ParcelShop service through Retailer training, positioning/updating POS and promoting local retailer activity, driving increased customer and parcel volume
  • Responsible for identifying network development opportunities to recruit new ParcelShop locations within a specified area, adhering to ParcelShop operational & quality standards
  • Responsible for the up-selling of additional ParcelShop services, where applicable, to identified sites;  in order to meet set sales targets
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of all Retailer administration documents within the territory 
  • Responsible for building close working relationships with each Retailer, by maintaining a regular visit cycle to the ParcelShops within your territory
  • Representing Hermes ParcelShops with professionalism and integrity, ensuring customer service excellence at all times
  • To communicate effectively and in a  timely manner, to Line Management and any other relevant personnel, any operational / Service issues
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on retailer performance and personal actions
  • Demonstrate effective time management – ensuring that full productivity is achieved daily

Knowledge/Experience/Skills required:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be currently operating in a similar field based role in a retail sales environment
  • Have people and relationship management experience with a particular emphasis on support, motivation and engagement, being the main conduit for issue resolution
  • Have experience and proven track record of adding significant value, continuous performance improvement and achieving sales targets
  • Competent in data interrogation and basic understanding of excel
  • Have the ability to work on their own with high levels of self-motivation.  Demonstrating an aptitude to utilise their own initiative
  • Be able to maintain a Professional appearance and attitude at all times, be articulate and able to communicate confidently at all levels

You must be able to demonstrate:
