NATIONAL ACCOUNT MANAGER – DIY & High Street Retail

Home based with National travel

This fantastic opportunity is with a Market Leader whose brands are the choice of DIY Consumers and Professionals alike.

We are seeking a National Account Manager, ideally with specific experience managing Wickes and /or B&Q in a similar market.

This role is perfectly suited to a Key/Junior Account Manager or Executive who has the drive, energy and ambition to develop both existing and new business opportunities.

You will be expected to effectively manage existing accounts and achieve sustainable growth across the DIY and High Street Retail channels. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement account development plans and promotional programs. 
  • Effectively manage strategic planning and day-to-day account management in order to     deliver the desired performance  
  • Negotiate range pricing and promotional deals 
  • Maintain high levels of awareness of market and competitor activity and customer trends 
  • Provide accurate sales estimates and alignment with product forecasts
  • Develop in-depth technical knowledge of product and marketplace 
  • Build and leverage horizontal and vertical customer relationships 

Skills/experience required

  • Minimum 1-2 years KAM/NAM experience 
  • Experience of managing a major DIY Retail Account (ideally Wickes/B&Q)
  • Ambitious, keen to progress & develop.
  • Experience involving the handling of senior account relationships – experienced buyers/sales managers
  • Intelligent thinker, strategic planner, focused and priority driven    
  • Excellent negotiation/selling skills
  • Strong motivation, well organised and structured approach
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and selling skills
  • PC Literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective communicator both internal and external
  • Strong Commercial Awareness with analytical approach

Salary is negotiable c. £40k - £45k + bonus + car/allowance.
