MacGregor Black is currently working on an opportunity with a prestigious and well respected food manufacturing company, based in Yorkshire.

There's no such thing as a typical day in category management. One day you’re reviewing category data and scorecards to understand performance and recommend improvements. The next day you’re meeting with the retailer to share category plans and agree new ranges and merchandising.

As such your responsibilities will include:

Performing market research activity for the category to identify market shifts and trends

Managing the strategic relationship with distributors, their sales teams and retailers

Strategically working with marketing, supply chain and commercial departments to ensure point-of-purchase plans are executed effectively

Driving merchandising and in-store space planning activity

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone that can demonstrate a proven ability in developing best in class category strategies, that will lead the rest of the business through the development of the supplier strategy.   

Ideally 10+ years’ Category experience in FMCG, with chilled food experience

A track record of managing remote teams

A track record of success with retailers and/or foodservice accounts

A demonstrable track record of providing retailers with world-class service thorough category management and nurturing strong relationships

Experience of analysing and interpreting data from data providers

The ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers
