With over 80 years of history and a turnover in excess of £140m, our Client is recognised as an established supplier of frozen foods, ambient goods, dried fruit, fruit juice concentrates, purees, meat, fish, seeds and pulses to UK food manufacturers and retailers. Due to recent successes and growth they are looking for a Sales Manager to join their Ambient Food division to work with key UK customers and international suppliers to develop new and existing business.
Reporting to the Commercial Director this new role will combine managing existing accounts with researching new business opportunities. The role will lead the day to day account development with UK customers and international processing supply partners, negotiating at both ends of the supply chain to successfully win and execute contracts within the food manufacturing industry. The role will also spend time leading business development with new customers and processors keeping abreast of industry innovations and market dynamics as the business expands it product range and customer portfolio.
The successful candidate will have at least 12 months of sales or trading experience in the Food & Drink sector and be comfortable building new relationships across the food industry. It’s a dynamic supply chain and so candidates must be comfortable working quickly and in partnership with experienced Traders in the wider business to deliver customers’ expectations in a challenging trading environment. Putting experience to one side, above all, candidates must show the drive, ambition and commercial skill set be successful in this position and make the most of the opportunities that will be presented to them.
