The Package

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience

Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm
The nature of the role will require availability out of normal office hours.

The Job

The main role is customer facing, building new business and developing existing relationships using your sales skills and experience. You’ll grow sales and inspire those around you to give our service the very best chance of being used by chefs. Working with chefs, you’ll be a day-to-day contact for them and their buyers. You will take responsibility for the delivery of targeted turnover and gross margin. You’ll also help create business plans and it’ll be up to you to grow your own area, but you’ll do it with great service and an experienced team behind you.

You will require an in depth understanding of the importance of customer service and recognise the need to balance profitable growth with customer satisfaction. You will also be offering focussed promotions and upselling to customers and play a key part in obtaining customer feedback on our products and service.

The position reports to the senior BDM and as part of a team, flexibility in your role and support for your colleagues are vital.

Role Requirements

  • You will be energetic, with spark and passion that can easily build a friendly rapport with customers. 
  • You must have excellent communication skills.
  • You need to be experienced in overcoming rejection and achieve challenging goals on a daily basis.
  • You will have to be persuasive and highly motivated in sales.
  • You must be able to work independently in an efficient manner and be a self-motivator.
  • You must be able to sell in promotions and upsell to existing customers.
  • You will have some sales administration requirements.
  • You must be flexible, open minded, helpful and naturally positive.
  • You must be punctual and trustworthy.
  • Previous sales experience is important; within the food industry is preferable and foodservice ideally.
  • You will have a good understanding of MS Office applications and the internet.

NOTE - applications will also be considered from exceptional individuals without a sales background, but able to demonstrate a knowledge and passion for our products and markets.
