Senior Lecturer (Retail Operations)

The Department of Marketing, Retail and Tourism is one of the UK’s largest providers of education in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Advertising and Branding, Public Relations, Retail Management, Place Management and Tourism Management. Our undergraduate, apprenticeship, postgraduate and research degrees provide professionally focused education. Our key mission is to develop our students into highly employable, socially and environmentally responsible professionals.

Externally recognised for the quality of our teaching, the Department’s courses are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. We are home to the internationally renowned Institute of Place Management, an Institute of Travel and Tourism Centre of Excellence and an Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) Education Partner.

We are looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Retail Operations. The successful candidate will be expected to teach on undergraduate, degree-apprenticeship and postgraduate courses, supervise students, provide pastoral support and undertake academic administrative duties.
The post holder will be supported to work to strengthen and extend their research profile and that of the Department. Industry practitioners, with little/no experience of research, are still very welcome to apply and they will benefit from professional development to help establish a research career.

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching Retail Management and Marketing in higher education. You will have substantial experience working at a managerial level within the retail sector. You will be student-focused in your academic practice, highly collegiate and committed to your own professional development.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Andrew Lewis, Senior Lecturer in Retail Management
