Our Kent based client is very well established and financially very secure. As a highly respected multi- discipline service provider and partner to suppliers and leading manufacturers in key food commodities internationally, they are now looking for a unique individual to assist in taking their growth to the next level.

The role for Commercial Manager will give you genuine freedom to make strategic decisions to create success in a company that is progressing rapidly. With turnover projected in excess of £100million for 2018, this is a fast-paced company, forward-thinking with a real can-do attitude. In this role, you will be given the tools and the commercial freedom to exceed your own expectations and create the ongoing growth the clients desires.

This role will require a strong commercial background either with FMCG or/and the fresh sectors. Essentially sales growth will be based on the strength of products and exploiting existing markets or/and creating new sales avenues be that retail, or other consumers areas and in addition creating an on-line offering as well. The company takes great pride in the quality of their bespoke products and this role will suit an individual who has a genuine love of food, marketing and great strategic awareness . Experience in a commercial function within a FMCG or/and Fresh Produce environment is necessary to ensure that you fully understand the complexities that come with mass produced food/products so you can have frank and intelligent conversations with clients and manage account relationships successfully

The role will entail:

  • Liaising with new and existing customers and suppliers to understand their requirements, product briefs and aspirations
  • Working with your colleagues, to develop unique products that meet the customer’s requirements and meet their commercial standards
  • Negotiation with customers for pricing and supply of new and existing products to obtain margin and growth aspirations
  • Working with colleagues to ensure that all products are accurately costed, taking into account material costs, factory material yields and labour cost
