Job Details

The Buying and Merchandising division of Exsurgo is recruiting a Buyer for a desirable retailer.

This is a very fast-paced and values driven company, achieving impressive growth making a difference through their attention to detail.
 

The role:

The purpose of the role is to ensure the identification and sourcing of relevant merchandise are to meet the following targets: you will be expected to meet customer needs in choice, price and innovation. You will deliver budgeted gross & net sales and margin £ and gross margin %. You will work with Merchandising to deliver budgeted stock and take ownership of supplier relationships.

 

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will be graduate calibre and have had extensive previous buying experience. You will have experience with a ‘blue chip’ retail environment including a proven track record of being in a buying position, You will have in depth knowledge of contract negotiations and experience of trading complexities associated with branded merchandise. Strong business acumen and highly results focused.

 

You must be:

Self-starter and able to work to exacting deadlines.

Identify issues and develop solutions in order to meet sales, profit and budgetary targets

Strong leadership, decisive and tenacious

Track record of coaching/developing junior personnel
