Category Controller

A world class FMCG business based in Greater London is looking to recruit a Category Controller for their grocery customers. This is a highly strategic role that will manage a team and could suit a senior category manager looking for a step up into a controller level role.

The main purpose of this role is to strategically lead a team and implant category knowledge, expertise and best practice internally and with the customer. This will lead the functional relationship top to top with the customer base and maintain a successful partnerships.

The role will work on a project basis and take control of category strategy, range reviews, category trade meetings and also promotions, whilst streamlining process for the future.

Recruitment, management and development of the team is a key responsibility, and ensuring a highly capable and successful division, working alongside other commercial & marketing areas.

Key experience / skills required:

• Senior Category Management & leadership experience from a blue-chip FMCG business
• An ability to conduct & implement successful range reviews and category strategies
• Team Management - an ability to coach & develop, candidates stepping up from 1 direct report will be considered
• Passion for consumer goods, market trends and consumer behaviour
