National Account Manager
Established over 20 years ago as a small independent business, my client has grown into a globally recognized company where brands and licenses run through its DNA. The business is a specialist in the Toys market, both here in the UK and across the globe. The business is constantly investing money into the development of new product ranges which allows them to stay ahead of their competitors. As a result of this and the amount of new opportunities for the business they are now looking for a UK National Account Manager to join the team.
Reporting into the Sales Director you will be a key member of the sales team and you will be responsible for a handful of UK based national accounts, as well having a significant amount of exposure to the international business. The role is predominantly office based in the South East and you have the responsibility to manage your own diary. The role will come with the expectation for you to travel to meet your customers as required. The business also participates in both UK and International trade shows, where your attendance will be crucial to the development of your accounts.
You will be expected to grow the existing accounts to ensure all opportunities are maximised and profitability is in line with the company's targets. The need to drive new business in the UK and internationally in areas that have not been fully utilised will be a key aspect of your role. The business will be looking for you to put together slick monthly forecasts and sales budgets whilst working closely with the business areas such as; RND and Marketing. Making sure that you are sharing best practice, current trends and new ways to develop accounts in the best interest of the business.

Ideally, you will be an accomplished Account Manager who has come from the toys or games sector, however other industries will be considered. You will be a strong character, with leadership skills, honesty and integrity and able to integrate into an existing sales team. You will ideally have experience working with Debenhams, John Lewis, Hobby Craft or TRU, however this is not essential.
Key Responsibilities in this role will include:
- Creating your strategic channel growth plan
- Developing, implementing and reviewing joint business plans. This will include terms and account investment plans, distribution gains, promotional plans and new product opportunities.
- Create and develop superior customer relationships.
- Negotiate trading terms.
- Generate long term sustainable business relationships
- Build strong internal relationships and work cross functionally within the business.
