We are a highly successful, US-headquartered global confectionery business with a UK-based International Office. The UK International Commercial Sales and Marketing team, together with support functions control business within all international markets outside of The Americas and Canada. The international business has achieved exceptional sales and profit growth over the last four years; 37% growth in 2015, 39% in 2016 and is on track to deliver a further 20% growth this year. This success is the result of investment and drive in product innovation and distribution through targeted new markets, supported by a substantial above-the-line marketing spend — all delivered by a small, intensely passionate, high performance team.

As a result of this continued, strong performance, we are looking to invest in further strengthening our commercial team with the appointment of an exceptional International Business Development Manager. Reporting to the Regional Director - Europe, you will assume responsibility for the commercial (P&L) performance of a portfolio of existing European markets as well as targeting new market opportunities.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, FMCG commercially experienced individual with a track record of achieving profitable sales growth within a major branded business. This should either include managing a selection of international distributors or any of the UK national ‘delivered’ wholesale accounts and / or national direct selling operations where you will have gained a strong understanding of managing and leading modern route to market brand growth strategies. Either way, you want to further develop your commercial management career on the international stage in a role where your achievements will be noticed and your success will make a difference. Due to the international nature of this role, a second European language would be desirable.

Having developed strong FMCG commercial National Account Management experience, or alternatively having managed international distributors and/or customers; you possess solid business development, negotiation, customer relationship and insight/financial analysis skills, together with a highly professional style and driven attitude. On an upward career curve, you are a creative, driven and ambitious individual with a focus on achieving both your business and personal career goals. Above all, you have the ability to build effective relationships across different cultures with first class influencing skills and the gravitas to deal with people at all levels and across all functions.
