£60,000-£70,000 + benefits
Due to a substantial period of growth an exciting opportunity has now arisen at one of the UK’s fastest growing product sourcing and distribution businesses across licensed, branded and own label consumer goods. The company is striving to continue their upward trend of growth in the coming years and through a restructure, has identified the need to recruit a Sales Director to work alongside the current Directors and owners of the business.
Our client supplies many of the UK’s major discount stores as well as toy retailers and the grocery major multiples. With an in house design team and product development specialists, they have built a reputation of working with their customers to provide a bespoke solution to their requirements. This business is extremely fast paced, and focused on increasing their sales throughout the UK and Europe, with their highly successful senior management team at the forefront of this ambition.
As Sales Director, you would be responsible for growing the UK market through being hands on with key retailers, whilst leading and developing the Sales team. This would consist of 4 direct reports including a Senior National Account Manager, two Key Account Managers and one administrator. You will be key to developing and implementing the sales strategy, whilst working closely with other Directors on the overall business strategy.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Manage the progression of JBPs within key retailers in the UK.
- Develop long term sales strategies to achieve the growth plan and ambitions.
- Full P&L responsibility for UK, setting targets with accounts and sectors.
- Recognise gaps in the market with a mind set for growth.
- Prepare sales and analytics data to share with the SMT
- Interact effectively with key internal departments such as Design, NPD and buying in order to maximise market opportunities
A successful applicant would ideally have an excellent knowledge of the ‘non-food’ consumer goods industry, having held successful senior positions previously. In addition, man management experience is essential, strong commercial acumen and a clear strategic mind-set will also be key for this role. A high level of UK account knowledge, most favourably across the major discounters and grocers, would lend itself very well to this role.
