Based in Surrey

Our client is a highly successful, US-headquartered, global confectionery business with a UK-based international office. The UK International Commercial Sales and Marketing team, together with support functions control business within all international markets outside of The Americas and Canada. The international business has achieved exceptional sales and profit growth over the last four years, which has been driven through investment in product innovation, consumer-led marketing, the development of product distribution through targeted new markets and delivered by a small, intensely passionate, high performance team.

The Head of International Product Sourcing is a very broad-based and pivotal operational role that plays a key part in the Senior Management Leadership Team reporting to the General Manager -International. The role sits at the heartbeat of the business playing a key role in shaping the business strategy and influencing the product sourcing and commercialisation of their range of branded added value confectionery products. Leading a multi-talented team of seven, the key responsibilities and outputs of the role include:

  • Strategic management of internationally based manufacturers and suppliers
  • Management of the end to end supply chain
  • Management and control of product quality and compliance
  • Delivery of new product development sourcing and commercialisation
  • Driving operational efficiencies
  • Management and motivation of a highly effective operations team

To qualify for this highly exciting and dynamic operational role you will have strongly developed your experience within FMCG food or drink companies or Grocery Multiple Retailing, gaining extensive experience with international branded or own label bespoke product development and sourcing. With first class commercial, negotiation, influencing and project management skills you relish attention to detail and are comfortable developing systems and processes focused on improving efficiencies and growing profitability. Experience or sound understanding of QA procedures, demand planning and international supply chain/logistical management would be a clear advantage to this appointment. Additionally your ability to lead and coach the team is essential to succeed in this highly influential position.
