We are currently looking for a Process Technologist to join us to ensure HACCP system & food safety process are fully validated and compliant with legislation, customer & group requirements. You will also support the day to day delivering of individual projects and to achieve customer, site and category technical goals and budget and/or quality objectives.

Main responsibilities
  • To support the Technical Process Manager in overall team management where necessary
  • To deputised in Technical Process Systems Managers absence & provide key cover for peers
  • To ensure that process and finished products controls via HACCP are effective in ensuring the safety of food manufactured and satisfy the site due diligence requirements
  • Key responsibility for site HACCP validation
  • Play a key role in the Technical Services HACCP team
  • Support, maintain and implement the data capture systems or equivalent at site – including troubleshooting, writing procedures, reviewing & publishing data
  • To adopt a proactive approach to the factory, provide trouble shooting and a point of reference
  • Maintenance of factory manufacturing specification documentation
  • The role includes day to day interface with the factory teams, other members of the technical team and supports the innovations team in the NPD process as directed by the Technical Process Manager
  • Support on project implementation as directed by the Process Technical Manager & SME teams
  • Play a key role on the site internal audit team
  • Support complaints investigations and raw materials specifications systems as required
  • To play a support role in all customer, group & audit visits
  • Promote a Health, Safety and environmentally conscious working environment
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as required

  • Ensure that Food Safety legislation and guidelines, as well as Company Policy, are adhered to.
Ideal candidate
    Preferably Degree level or equivalent in food science or food related discipline

    Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a chilled food environment

    Minimum Level 3 HACCP

    Minimum Level 3 Food Hygiene

    Internal auditing qualification

    Sensory qualification

    IOSH – an advantage

    Risk assessment, problem-solving and decision making skills

    Analytical skills, comfortable with dealing with complex data

    Must be able to manage own time and ability to prioritise workloads, leading to the completion all key tasks in line with challenging schedules

    Good IT knowledge

    Good attention to detail.
