Head of Key Accounts

As part of a family owned, thriving, global pharmaceutical company, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health has a growing portfolio of market leading products. At the start of this year the company acquired Merial Animal Health to become the second largest animal health business globally and there has never been a more exciting time to join this highly successful and respected animal health business.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Head of Key Accounts for the UK and Ireland.This is a senior strategic position within the Pet Vet business at Boehringer Ingelheim that sits on the leadership team. Our Key Accounts deliver a substantial fraction of our annual sales and profits, and we forecast that this will increase substantially in the near future both in real terms and as a proportion of overall income.

As Head of Key Accounts, you are accountable for crafting the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health UK and Ireland key account strategy, segmenting customers and delivering net sales and profitability targets within this group of customers. Leadership experience, strategic thinking and innovation are required as you will also be responsible for coaching and developing a team of Key Account Managers, through whom you will execute your strategy.

To be successful in this selection you will currently be in a senior management position and have extensive experience dealing with complex national accounts and leading a team responsible for representing the business. Your ability to understand the animal health prescription market and adapt quickly to any changes is essential. You will also have the credibility and confidence to lead negotiations and plan commercial agreements with senior customer representatives.
