Job Details

Our client is a leading supplier of grocery brands familiar to us all.  Privately owned, they provide an entrepreneurial working environment where people are encouraged to manage relationships in their own personal style.  Decision making process is swift, and thought leadership encouraged, so those looking for freedom and autonomy will thrive here.

The business is currently looking to recruit an experienced Account Manager to drive performance with their leading customer account – Tesco.  The account is of great importance to the business, and the role viewed as ‘the bridge’ between Account Manager and Sales Controller levels, providing the ideal platform to accelerate your career development.

The business is looking to identify their next Grocery Controller via this appointment, with an agreed plan in place to develop the successful candidate over a 12-24-month period and progress them to Controller level in turn.

Assuming full P&L accountability for a £35m+ Tesco relationship, you will be responsible for managing and coaching a NAM/NAE there to support you with the day-to-day management of your account.

There is no doubt this is an exciting opportunity to work with a strong portfolio of brands, gain your first taste of line management responsibility, and advance your career to Controller level in reward for performance.

To be considered for the role, it is important you demonstrate a branded mentality and record of success whilst managing a top-4 grocery retail customer account.  Tesco exposure is advantageous, however not essential.

You will be looking to progress to Controller level within 2 years, and be keen to manage a NAM level direct report to gain management experience and position yourself well for a senior role.

It will be expected that you have experience of developing and implementing successful joint business plans with your current customer base, and will be able to demonstrate the delivery of results that at least match, if not exceed your KPI’s.

If you are interested in learning more about the business we represent and this particular opportunity, please contact us via the details provided.

Company

For over a decade now, Food Industry Associates Ltd have proven to be a recruiter of choice for ambitious SME food and beverage manufacturers across the UK.  We don't recruit for the big corporates by choice.  Instead, we choose to work with companies with personality, entrepreneurial flare (not process), looking to disrupt the market with cutting edge innovation to provide consumers with better, healthier choices.

Are you an early stage start-up struggling to find the right solution to help you gain your fist listings in a specific customer channel before you can raise the budget to employ somebody on a permanent basis?  Maybe you know you need to source a commercial leader but aren't 100% clear in what format, or how to adequately incentivise somebody from a much larger business to join your mission?  Come speak to us.

If you're a more established business looking to bring fresh talent on board to drive ambitious sales targets, source a creative innovator to help you drive in to new extended categories, or looking to strengthen in marketing / category terms, again, come speak to us.

We've a proven record in recruiting talent for an array of businesses, helping them source commercial talent to help them achieve their goals.  From early stage sales talent through to equity-incentivised leadership roles, we've proven time and time again to find the right people for our clients at the first attempt.

How are we different to most of our competitors?  Unlike most, we don't have as diverse a portfolio of clients we work with.  However all those we do work with continuously come back to us whenever they next have another need.  In our opinion successful recruitment is achieved when two businesses truly 'partner' and collaborate together.  In our opinion the better we know you, the better we understand all the extra elements aside from simple skillset and experience to ensure the right 'fit' is identified at the first attempt.  In our opinion, this is recruitment, done properly.
