This Category Management opportunity sits within a well-known FMCG business who manufacture some powerful brands and are hugely innovative within private label.  Informal, yet passionate and engaged, trying to make a difference in the category in which they operate, continually reinvesting in the business.  This business is Yorkshire based and requires someone with a challenging mentality, who won’t settle for second best always asking the so what?

The role of Category Manager sits within a progressive team, who are forward thinking and constantly pushing on.  Responsibilities include:

• Taking ownership of a number of categories across two major grocery retailers
• Setting clear direction and a strategy which allows growth for your brands as well as retailer brands
• Identifying new opportunities for growth working hand in hand with the customer ensuring new initiatives are fully delivered on
• Monthly reporting, utilisation of retailer specific insight tools, presenting sound recommendations
• Analysis of various data sources including IRI/ Kantar/ Nielsen, developing category stories with compelling, clear objectives

Successful candidates will already operate within FMCG either supplier or retailer side and be in a Category Management position.  You will:

• Hold a number of years’ experience in working within The Top 4 Grocery Retailers
• Be familiar with data sources in either IRI/ Kantar/ Nielsen – any loyalty card data knowledge would be advantageous
• Be self-motivated and results driven with strong relationship management and influencing skill
• Be analytical, enjoy working with numbers constantly asking the so what?
• Hold a passion about making a difference and adding real value to your customer base
