My client are the market leader in their category within the Garden & Leisure industry. The company are American owned and boast some very healthy YOY growth numbers. Through their consumer insights and dedication to innovation, the company continue to bring garden products to consumers worldwide. Due to a re structure they are in a position to hire a Key Account Manager to their team.

The  Key  Account  Manager  is  principally  responsible  for  managing  the businesses key clients  which will include some of the Garden Centre Groups such as Wyvale along with some of the buying groups such as Tillington and Haskins. As Key Account Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing company’s Annual Sales Plan with full P&L responsibility to ensure that business objectives are achieved.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Promote and demonstrate a ‘One Team, One Goal’ philosophy with external customers delivering monthly, quarterly and full year sales targets.
  • Focus is on growing the core through innovative customer and consumer solutions.
  • Monitor and review each key account sales performance to ensure on target performance, identifying and recommending recovery plans as appropriate to deliver the portfolio numbers.
  • Manage and control account and portfolio D&A investment to deliver spend efficiency and effective / measurable return on investment.
  • Develop and implement structured, accountable and defendable trade & price terms aligned & consistent with overall sales strategy and direction.
  • Jointly plan & liaise with the regional sales teams to ensure the implementation of agreed account plans to deliver locally targeted promotional, range and space objectives.
  • Develop customer business by identifying & implementing joint marketing, linked sales and consumer in store education programmes opportunities. 
  • Influence  and  manage  trading  relationships  across  the  account  portfolio  – centrally  and  at  store  level,  maximising  product  distribution,  share  of  space and promotional execution to deliver sales targets
  • Work  with  the  colleagues/teams  across  regions  to  drive  sales  growth  and operational  efficiencies  –  including  optimisation  of  call  efficiency  and  sales conversions.

Essential Criteria:

  • Must have experience managing at least one of the Garden Centre Groups
  • Must be an established Key/National Account Manager within consumer goods
  • Commutable to head office in Frimley at a minimum of 3 days a week.
