An exciting opportunity is now available to join one of the housewares industries market leading businesses with global sales in excess of $1bn. Our client offers a number of the UK’s category leading kitchenware brands which are household names and synonymous with quality, leading design and innovation. Their reputation as a supplier is second to none and as a result our client has distribution across all leading UK retailers in both the national and independent channels. This is a business that has the size and scope to offer genuine career development opportunities and is renowned as an excellent employer within the industry.

As Area Sales Manager you will manage the Midlands territory. Customers include independent retailers and also a number of key accounts such as TJ Hughes, CDS The Range and Boundary Mill amongst others. Your strategy within the role will be to concentrate on customers who offer a good return on investment, meaning high spending, or high potential accounts. As a result you will manage in the region of 100 customers meaning you have the time available to work closely with each of these customers, forming excellent relationships that will be rewarding for both the customer and our client. The key objective of the role will be to grow sales in a constructive way that works over the long term.

To be considered for this excellent opportunity previous experience in the homewares product area is not important. However, you must have a background of working for a consumer goods supplier (category not important) and have a proven track record in an Area Sales role. You will be a talented sales person who understands the independent retail market and you will have an entrepreneurial spirit and flair. Your communication and relationship building skills must be excellent and you will also have strong analytical capabilities. A good working knowledge of IT will also be important.
