About Us

ATOM Brands is the product development and manufacturing business unit within ATOM Group which also includes Maverick Drinks (distribution) and Master of Malt (online retail).

In the last 5 years, our brands have won dozens of global awards (World’s Best - Blended Whisky, Blended Malt, Grain Whisky, Liqueur, Compound Gin, Spiced Rum & Pre-mixed Cocktail - many on multiple occasions) regularly triumphing in blind tastings against some of the world’s largest and longest-established products from businesses four orders of magnitude larger than ours. This speaks to our no-compromise approach to creation and crafting. We make the best - we don’t work backwards from price-points or seek to ‘fill gaps’.

We are growing at an astronomical rate. Hundreds of percent year-on-year, and that growth is still accelerating. We’re in the process of a global roll-out programme, and our brands are just about to hit the US market.

About the role

You will be responsible for every drop of liquid that goes into every one of our brands - spanning multiple categories - Whisky, Whiskey, Gin, Rum, Cocktails, Bitters, and even Vodka. Only Joking. No Vodka*. 

Most of your time will be spent deep in NPD, developing liquid for the 100 or so new SKUs that we launch each and every year, but you will need to balance this (and let’s be honest - that’s the fun bit) with a healthy amount of quality control and standard maintenance for the pre-existing SKUs that are already flying globally.

Main purpose of the role:

• Recipe and formula development for all new product launches and new lines
• Maintenance and development of production standards, processes and systems
• Cask, parcel and liquid acquisition for whisky, rum, gin and all other products we bottle
• Responsibility for product consistency and quality maintenance across all brands
• Liaison with external parties, distillers and suppliers
• Full responsibility for P&L and cash flow control for all production liquid streams

About you

You have a deep and instinctive understanding of flavour, and one of the best palates in the business.

You have an excellent working knowledge of the production (distillation, rectification and blending), and flavour-balancing of all spirits, chiefly Whisky, Gin, Rum, and Liqueurs. 

You are highly experienced, having spent the last 5-10 years in a liquid development role at a full-responsibility level for a UK spirits business.

You know the UK market inside-out, but you’re also well-versed in the common pitfalls associated with the most significant global spirits markets.

You have excellent contacts in the UK spirits trade (notably whisky and gin), and can leverage personal relationships to access stock that wouldn’t be available to the average bear.

You can demonstrate a track-record of full P&L and cash flow accountability for a significant business division.

You are highly intelligent, personable, eloquent, and able to inspire others to achieve your aims and objectives with enviable ease.
