The Advocate Group are partnered with a multimillion pound turnover Retail solutions business who are leaders in their field. Who are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to join their growing business?  They are a British family run end to end retail solution company who are looking for the best talent! An experienced BDM is required reporting directly to the Heads of Sales working from the Head Office in North West England. The role will drive sales by developing new business with key retailers focusing on the Top 6 and cultivate key relationships in the Grocery Channel, working closely with all departments especially close with the Account Mangers and Brand Business Development Manager to drive the continuous growth the company has achieved.
 
The portfolio of support you will drive is the end to end retail solutions from; Distributions, Fulfilment, Merchandising, Manufacturing, Store Development, Field Marketing, and Print Services. If you have a passion to driving new business with retail clients and looking for an exciting new career to grow existing and new accounts adding significate growth to the business.  The role offers a supportive but autonomous environment as well as offering exciting growth plans to accelerate your career. 
  
Primary responsibilities:

  • Develop new business opportunities with new retailers and also existing key accounts.
  • Support the Account Managers to develop their accounts.
  • Ensure excellent levels of customer service to all retail accounts.
  • Engage with senior stake holders to win new business, through face to face meetings, telephone and emails.
  • Lead tenders and proposal presentations for key clients with compelling, persuasive, engaging and collaborative manner. 
  • Deputise for the head of sales in their absence.
  • Work closely with the head of sales to develop new and existing business opportunities
  • Ensure all customer information is documented on the CRM system and reports are updated.

The successful candidate:

  • Experience of driving New Business Development 
  • Evidence of delivering new business with Retail Clients  (desirable Top6)
  • Excellent understanding of the sales FMCG environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident in negation with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Extremely motivated, driven, resilient and willing to take ownership of responsibilities. 
  • Comfortable working with data and information from a variety of sources
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • IT literate: Excel, WORD, Powerpoint
