Product Category Managers (Purchasing & Product Management)
Established in 1973 and still a family business, Oxford Products Ltd is now one of the world’s leading suppliers of motorcycle and bicycle aftermarket products. With a dominant position in its domestic markets, nearly 100 international distributors and a wholly owned subsidiary in the US, our 125-strong team is profitably doubling the business every 5 years.
To help support this on-going growth, we wish to recruit buyers with product management experience and varying levels of technical knowledge. As a buyer at Oxford Products you would be involved in all aspects of the buying cycle, from product development, range planning, supplier liaison and cost price negotiation, striving to maintain the integrity of the brand and achieve company objectives.
The ideal candidate will be well organised with excellent communication skills. It is vital that you are able to work on your own initiative, with good attention to detail, be PC literate with a good knowledge of Excel. Experience of complete product purchasing is essential, ideally involving some Far East sourcing gained in a similar industry. Being CIPS qualified or working towards it would also be an advantage.
We also value the ability to: -
- Identify the needs of the market, source products which meet those needs and then develop and package them to market-leading standards.
- Examine our current range, identify potential improvements and develop replacement products accordingly.
- Find better sources for current products, both from a cost and a quality point of view.
