Role
As Category Buyer you will be responsible for reviewing and planning the range and display of relevant shop category goods, ensuring they adhere to budget and merchandising strategies.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Complete regular range reviews and ensure timely distribution and confirmation of approved product/range changes.
Work effectively within the team to offer effective cross-category promotions and set promotional mechanics.
Work closely with Pricing Analysts to ensure the range pricing strategy remains in budget and the effectiveness of promotions.
Monitor site adherence to relevant category plans and the effectiveness of range on a regular.
Help and participate in the development of MRH pricing strategy.
Update training documentation.
Attend regional events, conferences and reviews.
Take responsibility for your own and others Health and Safety in your work area, raising issues and co operating with senior managers and SHE Co-Ordinator.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Buyer in FMCG with, preferably, experience in Tobacco, Beers/Wines/Spirits, Chilled and/or Hot Food-to-go for both Lunch and Take-home.
Good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Attentive to detail.
Ability to develop systems and processes, use initiatives to identify and apply solutions.
Ability to work accurately within strict time deadlines.
Skills and Qualifications
Technical Degree (i.e. Bsc) in Maths, Economics or Computer Science (desirable) or qualification by experience.
Excellent computer skills (Including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook).
Full Clean Driving Licence.
