The Company:

Harrogate Water Brands is an independent British company responsible for the production and management of one of the UK’s most iconic brands – Harrogate Spring Water. A business and town that is steeped in heritage the first mineral spring was discovered in 1571 by Queen Elizabeth’s physician. The water was first bottled in 1740 and by 1914 Harrogate had become the UK’s largest exporter.

Family owned since 2002, the business underwent a major rebrand and invested in state of the art production equipment in 2014.  After a phenomenal year in 2015, over 20 new jobs were created with the business now employing 75 people. Since then they have been experiencing revenue growth of over 30% year on year, which is three time the market rate, and strengthened their commercial team significantly.  As a result of the continued success of the business, 2017 sees the introduction of a further state of the art production line.

In 2007 the business launched the water brand ‘Thirsty Planet’ to give something back to those communities not fortunate enough to have access to clean running water. Partnering with charity Pump Aid they have raised over £2m in aid of water projects for some of the most disadvantaged parts of Africa.

Harrogate Spring Water is now the No. 1 Premium British Spring Water, internationally recognised for its exceptional quality, taste and distinctive style. They supply a range of prestigious customers including top restaurants, hotels, retailers and travel operators and are intrinsically linked with British sports.  Harrogate is the official water of Royal Ascot and recently partnered with Keep Britain Tidy.

The Role:

Harrogate Water Brands is now looking for a talented and dynamic National Account Manager to join the team and increase their presence in the HORECA market.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the senior leadership team to create and implement an effective HORECA strategy
  • Increasing brand visibility and distribution within the HORECA channel in London and the South East
  • Managing a portfolio of existing accounts and developing joint business plans to grow revenue and profitability
  • Actively targeting new business opportunities with key regional and national Hotel and Restaurant chains
  • Developing relationships with strategic Route to Market partners at all levels
  • Maintain accurate performance and budgetary information in respect to customer and product profitability

The Candidate:

  • To be considered for this opportunity it is essential that you have an in-depth understanding of the HORECA channel. You will be proven in your ability to develop strong, profitable relationships across a wide array of hotel, restaurant and catering based customers.
  • The ideal candidate will be experienced but still hungry to forward their career within a premium product category and will have ambitions to develop beyond this position within the Harrogate Water Brands business. Those with a background in the premium drinks sector will be preferred, but standout candidates from other product categories are also encouraged to apply.
  • Cultural fit is of high-importance for any business and for this position a determined and entrepreneurial character that thrives in an autonomous environment is required. Due to the business’ lean structure it will be expected that you work effectively across a number of functions including marketing and adopt a ‘hands-on’ approach to the role.
