Job Details

The Buying and Merchandising division of Exsurgo is recruiting an Assistant Merchandiser.

My client is the biggest, best known retailer in the horticulture industry based in West London.

This company known for getting the right stock for a specified category at the right place at the right time thereby implementing the forward plan and enabling to provide an enticing product selection for customers whilst meeting commercial ambitions.

The role:

Stock management

Orders the correct quantity of stock to arrive at the right place at the right time to provide an enticing product selection for customers

Investigation and reporting

Monitors stock availability and investigates and responds to variances against plan making recommendations for action to make sure that stock forecasts are met.

Continual improvement

Identifies areas for improvements and recommends new ways of working within the team to enable the team to continually improve on their performance and efficiencies

Team collaboration

Collaborates with trading colleagues making sure that the product lines are ordered and are available at the right time thereby making sure that forward plans are fully implemented

Candidate requirements

Previous experience in horticulture/fresh produce is essential

Proactive approach to problem solving

Analytical

Possess sound commercial acumen

A genuine interest in the retail market

Strong interpersonal skills

Flexibility and enthusiasm 

The ability to work to strict deadlines
