Sales and Marketing Manager
Our client, a significant player in its distinct and well-loved sector is looking to strengthen their team by the appointment of a Sales and Marketing Manager. The business has seen steady profitable growth over a number of years however they now want to accelerate this growth by this appointment.
Reporting in to the Managing Director, you will be accountable for delivering the commercial strategy and driving profitable growth across the business. This new role will be about evaluating the marketplace, the routes to market, the product mix and then it will be to set the strategy for clear and profitable sales growth. It is a really 'hands on' and highly seasonal business and so you will need to be adaptable and flexible, but it is a great opportunity for someone to join a small but excellent team and really put their mark on a business.
Who we're looking for?
In addition to having horticulture sales experience at either a garden centre or national retailer level we want someone who is wanting to get stuck in and really drive the commercial function. There are many opportunities open with new, as well as existing channels, so we need someone with the drive and intellect to identify these opportunities and exploit them. With strong market knowledge and understanding, you will be a highly motivated individual who is driven by results and who has a natural inclination to sell. You will have an entrepreneurial mind-set mixed with the ability to sit back and identify the opportunities within the market place, and then go and exploit them.
Because of the size of the operation you will have a real opportunity to help shape the future of the business, the lines of reporting are very short and so the business is nimble and dynamic; you would quickly see your good ideas turned in to reality.
The salary is negotiable upon experience but includes a significant basic salary and strong, performance driven bonus + benefits.
