The Role

In a flat structure such as ours we need all of our teams to work well together. Our internal relationships between operations and commercial are ‘glued’ together by procurement. Our strategy is to ensure that our customers get the best quality at the most competitive price, wrapped in the highest quality of service. In order for us to achieve our plan you will add value through strategy, innovation, product sourcing and developing new suppliers as well as negotiating the best deal possible.

As the sponsor of the ‘Academy of Cheese’ our product knowledge and cheese making expertise is market leading allowing us credibility to supply a variety of markets including retailers, the leisure and travel industry and food service sector.  

What we are looking for

Working within a small team of 4 we are looking for an inquisitive and influential Buyer to manage our International supplier base. It is necessary for the successful candidate to be highly organised, solution focused with the experience of designing and delivering a successful strategy.

With over 120 suppliers including our own artisan cheese making facilities you are faced with many cultural differences therefore you need tenacity, sensitivity and stamina to achieve your challenging goals. You will be able to communicate messages clearly and concisely, listening all the time to the customer’s needs while ensuring business KPI’s are met in a timely and accurate fashion.

It is important that you show agility and flexibility and are able to deal with frequently changing priorities. As you travel through Europe you will be comfortable leaving your comfort zone while setting challenging goals.  You will have previous buying experience ideally having spent some time in a chilled sector.  Ambitious and keen to progress we would consider supporting you through CIPS.
