Key Objectives

1.To competently plan and manage product stocks from the point of purchase through to release for Sales or Non Retail Sales with a view to achieving maximum service performance to suppliers and customers

2.Maintenance and development of grower/supplier relationships

3.To competently programme stock requirements with suppliers and ensure the supplier fulfils these requirements

4.To communicate market and source conditions that impact on availability, cost or quality to all relevant parties

5.To share responsibility for profitability of designated product areas with the Department Manager

6. To provide a high standard of administrative support to the Buyer and Procurement Managers within the department

Person Specification

-Be a highly competent and efficient administrator
-Be able to effectively work in a busy, noisy and high pressured, open plan office environment
-Be able to demonstrate a proactive and flexible attitude to work
-The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at varying levels both internally and externally including suppliers and customers
-Ability to form strong supplier / customer relations
-Demonstrate the ability to solve problems and where necessary make decisions under pressure
-Be sufficiently numerate and a clear logical thinker with good analytical skills
-Be self motivated
-Have good time management, planning and organisational skills
-Be able to work to tight deadlines
-Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
-Be able to work as part of a team as well as independently when required
-The ability to retain information in order to be "one step ahead" in respect to providing accurate stock information at short notice.
-Take ownership of your key areas of responsibility
-Possess competent PC skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
