Buyer Tropical Fruit | Lincolnshire | Progression

We are currently working with a large and well regarded fresh produce business who are looking to bring in a Buyer to help them with their Tropical Fruit procurement. Ideally, you will have a some experience in Fresh Produce, possibly as a buying assistant looking to move up or as buyer looking to move across. The company has a history of progressing people internally and there will be options for this in time.

The Job

Planning and managing the overall stock of product on site, ensuring you have sufficient to fulfil customer orders.
Keeping a close eye on this is essential, as you will need to react to changes quickly.
Communicating with the broader business, to ensure they know what is happening at all times, to allow for better overall planning.
Speaking to and visiting suppliers in a range of countries, to ensure they are aligned with the business and provide you with the best product available.

The Candidate

You will ideally have a background in fresh produce and have had some involvement in Buying/Procurement before.
You will be good with numbers and will be able to work effectively in a high pressure environment.
Working in a proactive way, ensuring you are addressing issues/opportunities before you are asked to, will take you a long way in the business.
