A brand led food manufacturer are seeking an experienced purchasing professional from the food industry to take on a key strategic role.

The Organisation

You will be joining a business with a diverse customer portfolio, a stable supply base, and great brand leadership. The company is investing heavily in their purchasing team, seeking to apply a category led approach and give freedom to individual buyers.

The business has locations across the UK, and you may be required to do some occasional travel during working hours.

Because of ongoing NPD projects across the business, your role will always be evolving.

The Role

You will have full category ownership over dry ingredients, working with a global supply base. You will seek to ensure a consistent and forward thinking strategy for procurement activity, ensuring a cost effective material supply chain.

You will administer and review supplier performance and competitiveness, leading hands on negotiations where appropriate.

You should expect to collaborate with both internal stakeholders and your customer base.

The Person

You will have a strong background in ingredients procurement or commodity buying. You must have a strong understanding of international supply chains, with the ability to demonstrate how you have taken a category led approach.

CIPS qualified candidates will be preferred.
