Commercial Manager - Seafood

Based: Surrey   

Basic Salary Circa: £50,000 - £60,000 + Bonus + Company Car + Private Healthcare

My client are an industry leader in their field, supplying across the fresh, chilled, ambient and frozen food categories within both the UK and European market. Operating in over 70 countries they can offer product expertise and outstanding customer service on a global scale. As result of recent growth, they have an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to operate across retail, foodservice and B2B accounts, specialising in their seafood category.

The Role:

  • Responsible for the implementation and execution of both the commercial agenda and wider strategic initiatives necessary on accounts across retail, foodservice and B2B.
  • Deliver a best in class agenda across the seafood category.
  • Work cross functionally to manage and nurture a collaborative relationship with customers while supporting the sales team to develop joint business plans and deliver against agreed sales targets.
  • Take a relationship led approach to consolidate and grow account value to achieve business commercial goals.
  • Proactively conduct strategic account reviews with Directors and Commercial Managers on account activity on a regular basis. Review service needs and product usage trends for all categories.
  • Identify products and pricing that meet customer needs and the businesses objectives.

The Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent.
  • You will have knowledge of the UK grocery trade with specific experience of working within the seafood sector.   
  • Ideally you will have experience of both retailer brand and branded products portfolios and be highly commercially aware.
  • Ability to analyse data and identify drivers, trends and opportunities with a very keen eye for detail.
  • You must be able to demonstrate a good category and consumer understanding along with strong project management skills and have the potential to develop within a fast paced food environment.
