My client are a market leader and global business within the Garden & Leisure industry. They are known for their innovative Garden tools and have massive presence in retailers such as Garden Centres, Builders Merchants, National DIY Retailers and Wholesalers. With a turnover of over £1b they are a financially stable and have a massive scope for progression opportunities.
The Role:
You will have overall responsibility for the DIY & Wholesale Channel managing three direct reports (Key Account Managers) as well as a significant account base to deliver sustainable, profitable growth in line with the Company's targets and aspirations. You will inherit a portfolio of accounts including Homebase (Bunnings) Wickes and Wyvale Garden Centres and be expected to develop these accounts. There will be an element of new business with this role in particular targeting the builder’s merchant.
Responsible for establishing new relationships and cultivating existing account base by:
- Understanding detailed customer information (including strategic challenges and priorities)
- Identifying key decision makers and coordinating necessary meetings with the account and the teams
- Prioritising opportunities critical to the customer/account – includes in-line, cross category and promotional
- Ensuring professional sales coordination and planning (including forecast/report sales accuracy) and develop and deliver account proposals and market plans
- Managing the line review process for respective accounts – includes efficiently utilising all resources (Go To Market, PR, sales analytics etc)
- Managing the Key Account team to excel in all of the above with an emphasis on learning and development orientation - challenge employees to continuously improve key competencies and ensures compliance standards are followed.
Essential Experience:
- DIY or Garden & Leisure industry experience
- People management experience
- Commutable minimum 3 days a week to Staffordshire
- Proven track record of growing DIY/Garden/Wholesale Accounts
