The role

A bespoke food manufacturer is looking for a commercial manager to help develop its relationships with the grocery multiples. You will be working as part of a small commercial team account managing a portfolio of the grocery multiples to help maintain and increase market share.

This will be both a hands on and tactical role that will require someone to be negotiating and developing JPBs and range reviews as well as developing the NPD. You will be spending some time in the office inputting data and creating sales decks.

The organisation is based in the South and they are looking for someone to work two days in the office, one day at client site and two days from home. You will be required to be very organised as some of the retailers have multiple contacts that you will be liaising with on a weekly basis.

The organisation has some ambitious plans and due to some restructure have secure new streams of funding that will allow them to raise their profile with consumers.

They have a good track record of NPD and driving new innovations into the market place and so will require someone who can negotiate new ranges with retailers.

The organisation is small but bespoke and have very distinctive branding that plays on their heritage and innovation. They produce both own label and branded products and have recently received new funding that will allow them to increase their profile with consumers.

The person

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have the following skills:
  • Strong commercial experience within own label and branded products
  • Experience of working with grocery multiples
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work at both a tactical and strategic level
  • Results in driving NPD across ranges
  • A strong analytical nature
  • A collaborative nature and ability to get things done
  • Understanding of the ambient food market
