Job Details

The Buying and Merchandising division of Exsurgo is recruiting an Assistant Buyer.

My client is the best known retailer in the horticulture industry based in West London.

The company known for getting the right stock for a specified category at the right place at the right time thereby implementing the forward plan and enabling to provide an enticing product selection for customers whilst meeting commercial ambitions.

The role:

Product and range

Product and range information enabling the divisional team to make effective commercial decisions.

Sub-category propositions

Under guidance translates elements of the category strategy and plan into elements of sub-category propositions thereby delivering budgeted targets and enhanced performance.

Supplier management

Maintaining supplier contracts, gains appropriate supplier information to support buying activity thereby providing a first point of contact for suppliers.

Candidate requirements

Previous experience in horticulture/fresh produce is essential

Strong analytical skills and ability to act commercially

Excellent attention to detail and a highly-organised manner

Excellent communication skills across all levels

Strong presentation skills

Trend and market awareness

Highly organised
