Having enjoyed proven brand distribution success across other key international markets, our client has now set up a corporate entity to replicate that model here in the UK. Their focus has been to source quality manufactured merchandise that can quickly be placed to make maximum market impact within those sectors currently enjoying the fastest consumer sell through.
What distinguishes this enterprise from other new launches is the depth and market coverage of the brand licences secured, enabling every jeweller from High Street to Destination Luxury Outlet to benefit from a cornucopia of treasured watch brands.
Having secured this surprisingly broad portfolio of European and Swiss watch brands, their next step is to assemble a new sales team to sell directly to Independent Jewellers countrywide.
Your career background will share our client’s commitment to genuine commercial endeavour. You may currently be in retail management within the Watch and Jewellery trade and looking for a route into field sales; or you may already have on-the-road experience but be keen to push onwards to a more sales-focused challenge than your current merchandising or sales support role will allow. Alternatively, you may be a Sales Executive with all the basic account management skills already in place, but be genuinely excited at the prospect of joining a new watch distribution business where you can be stretched and challenged to the next level.
With only a few doors currently trading, the remit of these roles absolutely demands a sales professional with the confidence to prospect independently-owned Retail Jewellers, rapidly building trust and brand listings with those retailers seeking a fresh supplier to fill the gaps in their merchandise offering that you will smartly identify.
Excitingly, the configuration of brands that you will be representing ranges from the fashionable through the prestigious to the elite echelons of luxury horological pieces, so you must exude credibility while presenting merchandise across the full spectrum of the watch industry, not just in any particular market segment.
Other personal strengths you will demonstrate in abundance include an enterprising spirit and a strong, positive communicational style, with the ability to verbalise and convert the opportunities to engender company commitment that you will daily discover.
Once opened, you will expertly offer brand training and merchandising guidance to your new accounts, facilitating the sell through of new in-store merchandise at the earliest opportunity.
Your early presence on this company’s trading journey will provide the opportunity tactfully to input your ideas and requirements to the UK owners, with the mutually-held objective of expanding the business for the benefit of all parties.
In terms of career progression, depending upon the success of the initial team of which you will be a key component, additional hires may follow, perhaps affording you the opportunity to take on an area/team management remit, taking care of the induction and training of future colleagues with a condensed personal sales area, and perhaps allowing your new business talents to be focused on opening new Key or National Accounts.
