Press & PR Manager (interim) Job

Location: London, England

Open your PR world

We need an experienced media communicator to join our UK external comms team on a fixed term contract for an initial period of 9 months.

This is a great opportunity to join one of the most exciting businesses in FMCG today, and at a crucial time in our development – as we push ahead with a full NPD programme, activate key sponsorships over the summer and deliver a number of corporate business & sustainability promises.

You'll be an important member of a wider Corporate Affairs team, with specific responsibility for external comms on a portfolio of our market leading brands; and a number of wider business projects.

Based in our offices in the West End of London, this is a highly autonomous role and will require somebody with experience of working in a fast-paced environment with plenty of scope to shape PR campaigns around brand and business objectives.

We'll need somebody who is used to working directly with journalists and other influencers (trade, business, consumer, vloggers etc.) but also briefing agencies and managing our investment in earned media. Some travel within the UK is to be expected as is taking a share in our out of office hours Rota for reactive media calls. Experience in dealing with challenging issues will be useful, as well as a keen eye for emerging social media themes. Familiarity with advertising and marketing rules governing alcohol (ASA, Portman Group etc.) would be very helpful.

Your background could be journalism, in house comms or agency – but you'll need to show how you've built and delivered campaigns with tangible results. You'll need to be comfortable working as a trusted consultant with a variety of stakeholders who will look to you for leadership on press, PR, social media and regulatory matters.

Reporting to the UK Head of External Comms, this is a full-time role on a fixed term contract – we envisage a June 2017 start, working through to February 2018.
