About our Client: 

Our client is an up and coming FMCG business which has gone from strength to strength over the last few years, more than doubling their turnover. Their products are British Heritage and British sourced and this opportunity is about growing their field sales team and increasing their product presence in their independent/free trade, deli's and farm shops channels. 

Culturally, hard work and integrity are what come to mind here. They are a small team where you will be trusted to carry out your role with autonomy, with full support from the Sales Director and close correspondence with the rest of the National Account's team. You will be learning from some very senior FMCG figures who have been in the industry for a number of years and will be imparting their knowledge to you!  


About the Role: 

These National Account Manager roles are viewed as highly important in the On Trade channel.  The positions span across Pubs, Restaurants, Bars, Farm Shops and Delicatessens and are about far more than just relationship building. You will need to step away from the day to day and look strategically at what will be best for the business in the medium to long term rather than just trying to get 'the quick win' every time. Collaboration is key and the learning initiatives across the business are about ensuring the whole company's success rather than just that of individuals. 

You'll be asked to:


  • Deliver and execute Customer Business Plans, whilst continuing to get under the skin of your customer.
  • Show your passion for the business whilst managing contractual negotiations and pricing activity.
  • Work with your peers developing and using best practice across the divisions.
  • Have some fun whist you are doing all of this!


About You: 

Ambition will be the key to success as a National Account Manager within this business, with a defined career path and excellent prospects. The management team want to be able to see at least 2 promotions in each of these recruits. They are looking for people who want to exceed expectations - you'll need to be able to show you are a future leader with high potential - someone who will raise the bar. Bring your brilliant mind and you will be rewarded. 

High on the wanted list is to have at least 18 month's experience managing on trade national or regional accounts. Additionally you will be someone who strives for success, rises to challenges and wants to work successfully with all of the key stakeholders. 

You should enjoy working in a fast paced culture, where energy and influencing skills are critical and are allied with the ability to create commercially sound solutions. You'll be able to deal with the internal challenges that organisational change brings and feel passionate about developing something new in the business.
