To deliver a high quality Financial service as part of the Compass Finance team, providing support to the Commercial Finance Manager in the key deliverables outlined below whilst highlighting and delivering process and reporting enhancements whenever possible.
Compass sales are c £300m, split over 8 major sectors with additional non-core contractual sales
These are the principal areas in which a job must produce results in order to achieve its purpose.
  • Responsible for customer sales and margin forecasting/planning and analysing variances to forecasts
  • Liaise with National Account Managers (NAMs) to rigorously challenge and question their plan assumptions, sales performance and KPIs on an on-going basis
  • Management of the Compass month end, quarterly and annual process
  • Cover for the Commercial Finance Assistant and the Commercial Finance Manager in their absence
  • Assist in the management of
  • Understanding impacts from contract changes and new business won and lost
  • Provide insight into contract performance including initial evaluation, feedback and ongoing performance tracking.
  • Reconciliation of the Compass Balance Sheet and management of accruals to ensure zero exposure
  • Take responsibility for producing the Compass Monthly performance packs and any ad–hoc analysis needed

Knowledge, Skills and
Ideally the candidate should have some previous experience of working in a sales driven commercial environment and qualified in CIMA, ACCA, and ACA.
Strong analytical and advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills High level of commercial awareness
  • Experience of using Microsoft Access
  • Experience and understanding of the foodservice industry
