National Account Manager- (Foodservice Wholesale)- Foodie/NPD Driven Own Label Label Business
As a leading privately owned Food Businesses, our client is a own label leader in Foodservice in several product areas across the UK. They have realised their strategic goals by growing through both strong organic development combined with Rapid and Strong Entry into New Markets. One of the keys to growth has been their ability to drive a Growth agenda with the National Accounts; and in doing so establish a Best in Class National Account Manager teams'.
Operating within a Foodie Own Label their offering is both sophisticated and premium in nature and subsequently has become a real product of choice for many discerning National Account customers and consumers. Committing strong levels of investment into both NPD and Leading Edge Category solutions within Foodservice they are at the forefront of taking the UK market to even higher levels of growth.
As result they are now seeking to appoint a National Account Manager- Foodservice
As the National Account Manager you will take full P&L accountability for a Key Foodservice Wholesale Customers alongside the development other indepedent OOH Customers. For 2017 fiscal year this equates to a sizeable piece of the overall sales/profit of the business, hence the role is a highly challenging one. You will also act as the Business Lead in an effort to take the category and customer to new levels of growth performance. Having close involvement with range management and merchandising, you will also feel the stretch of your intellectual capabilities as you find new ways of understanding your customer and end consumer.
- Win & Managing New Business
- Direct customer contact across all relevant functions.
- Negotiate annual Joint Business Plans (JBPs)
- Drive distribution of existing and new products.
- Manage product mix to maximise margin.
- Negotiate all elements of pricing, terms and promotions within Business guidelines.
- Deliver price increases.
- Pre- and post-evaluate promotional activity.
- Ensure that activity supports central brand direction where applicable
- Exercise Trade Spend control and process adherence
- Manage effective communication of Brand plans to the Customer Base
Whilst you will be fully supported by the Sales Director to whom you report; the emphasis will very much be on you to show how you can deliver and grow the Business. The category in which the role operates brings both challenges of leading NPD and Category initiatives requirements and also a real “tough trading” environment where strength of character is key. The ideal candidate will have gained strong experience in Foodservice National Accounts within the FMCG Industry, additionally the client is also willing to consider dynamic Junior candidates currently working directly at the Jnr NAM level. Financial Acumen and Strong Negotiations skills are a must, as this role will test the toughest of characters.
