Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Take overall control of the company’s accounting function. Lead and develop finance teams.
Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.
Interpret the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities.
This role requires someone with the ability to think on their feet and make quick decisions with little hesitation. Candidates should ideally be educated to degree level in a relevant field.
Responsible for handling the logistics of the organisation cost effectively, preparing expense budgets and monitoring inventories, and overseeing the supervision of employees. The job holder will be expected to harness a working environment which encourages team work, energy and creativity. To achieve this, they should have strong leadership and excellent problem-solving skills along with good communication skills.
To arrange purchase orders ensuring the ingredients of goods conform to Middle East/Indian regulations, manage pricing information and prepare and release invoices. Ensure all documentation complies with regulations regarding shipments to Middle East countries, Egypt and India.
Able to spot Export Compliance risks and come up with risk assessment measures. Should be up-to-date on regulatory changes in all Middle East countries and adapt appropriately.
Negotiate Sea and Air Freight rates.
Communicate with Suppliers, Salespeople, Wholesalers and Distributors to ensure that trading is carried out smoothly.
Required to travel to the Middle East and India on a regular basis.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, IT and numerical abilities, Leadership skills and experience; employee management; understanding of data privacy standards are crucial
Able to monitor and control expenditure. Able to interpret the impact of unusual figures identified by analytical review. Able to prepare budgets and forecasts in co-operation with operational managers
Able to review a complete transaction process system, able to identify control procedures, resource needs and interdependencies. Able to manage projects with a complex scope using advanced project management skills including establishing the timeline, resources, risks and deliverables.
A full understanding of accruals accounting and the impact of entries on profit and loss account, the balance sheet and the cash flow statement.
Should have experience of dealing with Freight Forwarders and Shipping companies, knowledge of international banking transactions such as Letter of Credit.
Should have strong communication, telephone and organizational skills, and computer skills particularly Microsoft Excel and SAP
Should be able to communicate verbally and written in English. Being able to communicate in Arabic is recommended.
Should have knowledge of world economy and GCC regional and country duty tariffs, customs documentation including SASO (Certificate of Conformity for Exports to Saudi Arabia), ESMA (Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology) and at least 5 years of experience of the regulations for import and export of food to the Middle East. Knowledge of Arab customs and in particular Halal requirements is essential.
Education & Experience
Should hold a Professional degree in Finance/Accounts or equivalent. Courses in business, such as Management, Import and Export documentation and Global business are beneficial
Hours of Work
Based upon a 40-hour week, Monday-Friday. The successful candidate will be required to be flexible and will be required to work weekends and overtime when required. They will be required to travel to the Middle East and India on a regular basis.
