One of the UK's leading high street retailers, with a brand that is going from strength to strength, is looking to continue the trend by appointing a skilled Category Planning Manager on a 12 month contract basis. In this high profile role, you will lead the Retail Planning strategy to ensure the business has a compelling customer offer in terms of product, service and and value for money.

Your new role
You will play a lead role in the definition and implementation of the Retail Category Planning process, with specific responsibility for managing the Category Planning strategy, reviewing the effectiveness of promotions and driving alignment and consistency across different product categories. You will present the planning meetings within the Category Buying teams, ensuring strategy is effectively communicated to key stakeholders to drive cross-functional collaboration across the different Product Category teams.

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will be an FMCG Trading professional with experience in Category Planning and the customer proposition side of the business coupled. You will have a strong knowledge of the retail commercial levers of range, price, promotion and supplier negotiations. This should be coupled with the ability to translate analytical insight into compelling commercial plans through your strong commercial acumen and your ability to influence at all levels, both internally and externally.
