Business Development Manager

Minster Fine Foods are the UK’s leading innovative supplier of delicatessen meat products.  We are responsible for sales and marketing within the UK for a selected number of specialised manufacturers across Europe.

Minster Fine Foods has almost 25 years’ experience supplying quality meat products at competitive prices to multiple retailers, foodservice, wholesale and manufacturing from 8 BRC accredited manufacturers across Continental Europe.

The Role

The principle responsibility of the role is to build and maintain key relationships with existing and new customers.  This will be done by identifying business opportunities within our target customer base which is largely major food producers, pub/restaurant groups and leading food service companies.  You will then provide your client with a customised solution in line with their specific needs. At Minster Fine Foods we pride ourselves on innovation and our ability to respond to market needs, and so this role also offers an excellent opportunity for an individual to get involved in new product development as well, and therefore you will be expected to bring ideas of new products and strategies to develop the market and sales.  

Reporting to the Managing Director, the role is based in our office in Bourne, Lincolnshire.  We would envisage a minimum of three days a week to be spent on the road visiting customers across the UK, with some European travel to visit our suppliers also expected.  When not on the road, you will be expected to be at the Bourne office, the hours of which are 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.  

The Person 

The candidate will need to:

•    have previous experience and skills within a Business Development or Account Management role.
•    have proven sales experience within the food industry
•    have good product and customer knowledge
•    be self-motivated and sales driven
•    be approachable and a strong communicator
•    be IT literate
•    be ambitious, driven and motivated by success

A competitive basic salary (the range being between £30k - £45k) which is dependent upon demonstrated ability and previous experience including developing and taking new business concepts to market.  We also offer a discretionary bonus too, which is based on the achievement of sales targets.  We also offer a company car, phone and company pension.
