Our client is a leading SME manufacturer and domestic distributor of a premium quality food products. They are extremely successful in what they do (have grown 10% YOY for the past 10 years) and offer a wide range of innovative, quality, inspirational foods to chefs, caterers, pizza and sandwich chains, wholesalers and grocery retailers. The business seeks to employ people who share the entrepreneurial, can-do attitude built into its DNA and tends to attract self-motivated individuals who are energized by the responsibilities available in what is still a relatively small, flexible and informal family business' environment. The business has put an aggressive strategy in place to double its size over the next 5 years!!

Due to this growth strategy, a Business Development Manager position is now available in the Sales Ingredients B2B team which currently turns over c£20m. Reporting to the Business Manager, the role is largely field based with a key focus on developing sales with their independent food manufacturing customers (B2B). You will take charge of c£1.4m but will be expected to double this within 12 months. There are around 150 ‘dormant’ accounts that have a lot of potential for growth coupled with a focus on new business development.  The role will be office based 1-2 days pw in South London with the rest of the time out in the field.

The position would suit someone with 2-4 years' experience of an Account Manager/Business Development role and at least 5 years' experience in a similar food related industry. You will ideally be managing Independent B2B customers at present with a track record of developing new business in this channel however you could also be managing larger National B2B Accounts of the likes of Greencore or Bakkavor and want a new exciting challenge of working with a larger portfolio of varied accounts. A keen eye for new business development is essential as the focus of the role is new business development. I am also looking for someone who has:
