Paul Nyman Consultancy are working with a leading non-food business to recruit a Head of Sales to be flexibly based from their site in Yorkshire.

About the Business

Operating across a range of private label and branded products within a broad range of non-food FMCG products. Our client supplies customers across the retail spectrum from the top 4 through to the discounters and has an ambitious strategy to grow further. A significant investment has been made in order to achieve these aims and the business finds itself with an industry leading manufacturing capability. 

About the Position

Our client is seeking to appoint a Head of Sales, initially leading a small sales team but with a view to also overseeing category going forwards. The remit of the role will be focused around nurturing the existing customer accounts the business has, whilst also going after a number of opportunities within current and prospective customers. The expectation will be for this role to be a significantly bigger proposition over the next 18-24 months. 

About You

  • Must have FMCG experience up to at least Controller level across multiple customer channels
  • Experience of operating in non-food FMCG is not necessarily essential but would be an advantage. More important will be your ability to understand factory manufacturing and how this feeds into commercial success
  • Successful delivery of this role will require going above and beyond straightforward account management, you will be required to operate strategically and plan, implement and deliver a strong growth plan within existing and new customers
  • A background that encompasses both commercial and category would be of particular interest
  • Experience of working in a business with a contract packing side would also be of benefit
  • Man management experience is essential for this role
  • You must be commutable to Yorkshire 2-3 days per week, this position would best suit someone located on the M62/Northern M1 corridors
