About the Role:

Working as ‘Head of Technical’, you will be responsible for the management and strategic development of all company operational functions.  You will constantly improve business operational efficiencies and further develop new revenue opportunities that will deliver growth to the business whilst proactively supporting and developing the management team.  Duties are varied and will include;

  • Directly lead, manage and motivate  6 Manager’s within the business
  • Adopt and progress existing operational plan – reaffirming this with departmental Manager’s
  • Implement yearly plans and agree targets with MD
  • Develop improved efficiencies in teams through effective management controls, KPI measurement and new business initiatives in line with company plan
  • Report the progress against plan of operational service P & L to the MD on a monthly basis
  • Communicate all relevant facts and required activity to the operational management team to ensure all relevant departments and people and management are aligned
  • Participate in the control of all operational costs and to proactively communicate all financial risks and opportunities to the MD and finance department in line with the company budget
  • Recruit, train, manage and motivate the operational team
  • Proactively measure and challenge performance
  • Conduct reviews in order to manage both aspirations and development potential

Attend management meetings


Proactively look at new and innovative ways to improve and develop company and teams in keeping with market trends and developments




Key Skills/Experience Required:

In order to be considered for the role of Head of Technical, you must possess the following;

  • A technical mindset with relevant experience gained from within the coffee industry
  • Advanced coffee equipment, competitor and product knowledge
  • Solid senior management experience
  • Experience of working at a senior level with the ability to interact with senior management
  • A desire to raise your profile within the industry and strive for a higher recognition
  • Effective people management skills with the ability co-ordinate others workloads alongside your own
  • Strong industry networking skills
  • High standards of personal administration and time management
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Able to travel on a regular basis
  • A full UK driving license
